Jasmine Hopkinson is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Fintech Industry Group.

Jasmine advises a wide range of clients, including technology companies, financial institutions, payments service providers, cryptocurrency platforms, and e-money platforms, on all aspects of financial regulation.

Jasmine trained in the firm’s London office, gaining experience in the Corporate, Banking, and Litigation & Trial departments, in addition to the Fintech Practice. She is a local co-leader of the London office’s Asian & Middle Eastern Lawyers Group.

Jasmine’s experience includes advising:

  • Coinbase on:
    • Its US$375 million acquisition of Echo, a community-based onchain investment platform
    • Its acquisition of Sentillia BV (dba Deribit), a UAE-based crypto derivatives exchange
    • Obtaining its EU MiCA license
  • FTMO, one of the leading proprietary trading firms, on the acquisition of OANDA Global Corporation, the online trading group
  • A tech startup on structuring and launching a first-in-kind platform for company private capital-raising 
  • Fintech clients on the structuring and regulatory treatment of their businesses, including authorization and compliance
  • Global cryptoasset service providers and payment service providers on structuring and launching new cryptoasset and payments products across multiple jurisdictions, including stablecoins
  • Cryptoasset service providers in relation to compliance with the cryptoasset travel rule and the UK financial promotions regime
