Dr. Jan-Mark Steiner is an associate in Latham & Watkins’ Hamburg office and a member of the Restructuring & Special Situations Practice.

Mr. Steiner advises creditors, investors, companies, management, shareholders, and insolvency administrators in connection with:

  • Financial restructurings (in-court and out-of-court), including debt-equity swaps, share pledge enforcements, and insolvency plan proceedings
  • Operational corporate restructurings
  • Acquisition of distressed companies, restructuring, rescue financing, or refinancing transactions

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Steiner worked temporarily as deputy notary at a notary office in Hamburg. He has authored numerous publications on corporate, insolvency, restructuring and real estate law.

Mr. Steiner’s experience includes:

  • Löwenplay / Safari Holding Verwaltungs GmbH on the financial restructuring and recapitalization, which involved the first UK scheme of arrangement for a German issuer post-Brexit
