Jacob advises clients on a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, developments, financings and joint ventures across all asset classes. Jacob regularly advises private equity funds, pension funds, real estate investment trusts (REITs), and public investment companies.

Additionally, Jacob advises public and private companies in a wide variety of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions and other corporate governance matters.

Jacob maintains an active pro bono practice, including working with families to adopt children and aiding individuals in the acquisition, disposition and leasing of commercial real estate.

Jacob's experience includes advising:

  • Represented the equity investment partner in a joint venture with development partners in the rezoning, entitlement, development, and construction financing (mortgage and preferred equity) of a 26-acre, for-rent, mixed-residential development project in Texas that includes 192 mid-rise apartments, 28 townhouses, and 94 single-family homes with eight acres of dedicated greenspace/wetlands.*
  • Represented the buyer in its acquisition, through a 1031 transaction, of a 507,000 sq. ft. warehouse triple net lease in Fort Mill, SC, subject to the assumption of an existing loan.*
  • Represented lender in construction and permanent loans for multifamily, industrial, retail, and office projects in New York and California.*
  • Represented an owner facing a matured/defaulted loan on an office/retail project requiring recapitalization with contribution by the lender's preferred equity investor.*
  • Represented buyer in its acquisition, through a reverse 1031 improvement exchange, of vacant land for its new headquarters and accompanying financing and development agreements.*
  • Represented borrower in the transfer through assignment-in-lieu of foreclosure for a full-service hotel in Florida.*
