Isobel Moffatt is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins.

Ms. Moffatt advises sponsors, borrowers, and lenders in connection with project development and finance transactions in the energy and infrastructure sectors. 

Prior to joining Latham, Ms. Moffatt trained and qualified at an international law firm in the firm’s energy, infrastructure, and natural resources team and gained experience in the firm's London and Singapore offices. 

She has previously worked in the power, gas, and low carbon trading team of a multinational energy company. 

Ms. Moffatt maintains an active pro bono practice, previously representing individuals seeking asylum. She assisted on the Pre-Action Protocol Letter project, which supports asylum seekers with pending claims regarding unsuitable housing conditions to challenge these conditions to the Home Office. 

Ms. Moffatt experience includes advising: 

  • The sponsors in relation to a first-of-a-kind green hydrogen facility and a green ammonia pilot project in Central Asia*
  • The sponsors in relation to the financing of three utility-scale solar PV projects, located across three regions of Uzbekistan, with the combined capacity of approximately 900MW*
  • The sponsors on the privatization and development of two CCGT power projects in Uzbekistan*
  • A consortium of lenders on the financing of a 500MW solar independent power project in the Sultanate of Oman*
  • An impact investment fund on the financing and carbon credit offtake arrangements in relation to a reforestation project in Tanzania*
  • An international energy company on the share acquisition and subsequent credit facility relating to the sale and purchase of carbon credits* 
  • The lenders in relation to a consortium’s acquisition of an Irish toll road concessionaire and operating company in respect of an Irish motorway constructed under a public-private partnership scheme*
