Hugo Bowkett is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Restructuring & Special Situations Practice.

Mr. Bowkett has wide experience acting for various stakeholders on finance, special situations, and restructuring matters. He advises on complex, multi-jurisdictional transactions which often entail negotiating and managing the interests of differing stakeholders throughout the capital structure.

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Bowkett practiced at another international law firm in London.

Mr. Bowkett’s representative experience includes advising:

  • The ad hoc committee in relation to the c. €570 million recapitalisation of Hilding Anders, a leading global bedding and mattress company
  • The creditors committee in relation to the €865 million first and second lien financing arrangements and €620 million recapitalisation of Imagina / Mediapro, a Spanish multimedia communications group
  • New Look, the UK-headquartered national fashion retailer in relation to the Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) of its store portfolio and a restructuring of its c. £1.35 billion debt restructuring in 2019 and of its £600 million debt and equity recapitalization in 2020
  • Comdata Group, a leading global service provider in Customer Management, on its comprehensive debt restructuring
  • The ad hoc committee in relation to the restructuring of Deoleo S.A., a Spanish headquartered and global olive oil production and distribution business, involving a Spanish homologacion process, partial debt for equity swap, new rights issue, and complex intra-group reorganisation with business and asset hive down
  • Bain Capital Credit on its joint investment with Alsea, S.A.B. de C.V., the leading operator of quick service restaurants, coffee shops, casual and family dining establishments in Latin America and Europe, and private equity firm Alia Capital Partners in a 21.1% stake in Food Service Project, S.A. (Alsea Europe)
  • A multinational corporate headquartered in Western Europe and its board of directors in relation to its ongoing shareholding, corporate, and financing arrangements as well as strategic, trading, and reorganization matters
  • The senior creditors on the c. €450 million debt and equity restructuring of the French-headquartered international trucks leasing business, Fraikin Group*
  • A unitranche lender in the c. €97 million and NOK400 million financing of FSN Capital’s public to private acquisition of Saferoad Holding ASA, a Norwegian based market leading provider of road safety and road infrastructure products and solutions in Europe*
  • A senior creditor in connection with the restructuring and Chapter 11 of Expro International Group, the UK oil services business*
  • Ad hoc committees of noteholders in respect of the restructuring of several residential mortgage-backed securitisations issued under the Eurosail programme*
  • Lenders in relation to the restructuring of pan-European and North American trade receivables securitisation programmes*
