Gen Huong Tan is an associate in the Singapore office of Latham & Watkins. He has experience advising clients on the full spectrum of corporate finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and technology, media, and commercial transactions.

His technology, media, and commercial experience includes advising on:

  • Fintech and payments, including payment processing, online payments, offline payments, mobile payments, and electronic wallets
  • Data privacy and compliance, including coordinating data privacy advice across Asia-Pacific and GDPR compliance
  • Content licensing and distribution
  • E-commerce, advising online platforms on consumer protection in relation to e-commerce and preparing user terms and privacy policies

  • Fullerton Healthcare (FHC) and SIN Capital, in the investment by CITIC Capital into Fullerton Health China, a holding company for FHC's healthcare assets located in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, and Macau
  • Coesia S.p.A in its £30 million acquisition of Molins PLC’s Instrumentation & Tobacco Machinery division
  • CVC on its proposed acquisition of the Capita Asset Services businesses from Capita plc
  • A soft contact lens manufacturer on the review and update of its customer supply and distribution agreements across a number of EU jurisdictions including the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, and the Netherlands
  • An American multinational courier delivery services company on the outsourcing of its critical data center infrastructure in Singapore and Hong Kong, including provision of a dedicated Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) cloud and co-location services
  • A Chinese internet and digital media giant on e-commerce, payment, privacy, and other matters relating to mobile applications and software in a number of jurisdictions globally including the US, Canada, South Africa, Taiwan, India, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Malaysia
  • The organizer and exclusive commercial rights licensee of the Formula E electric racing championship in Greater China, on all aspects of the organization, sponsorship, commercialization, and media rights of the races
  • A Southeast Asian full-service flag carrier airline on its GDPR compliance project
  • A global professional services firm on its “best-in-class” privacy impact assessment (PIA) program globally, across its federated network to ensure all new global tools and programs are fully compliant with local privacy laws 
  • STATS ChipPAC Pte. Ltd. in its offer to purchase for cash any and all outstanding SGD200 million 5.375% senior notes due 2016 and solicitation of consents to amendments to the 2016 notes indenture; and offer to purchase for cash any and all outstanding SDG611 million 4.5% senior notes due 2018 and solicitation of consents to amendments to the 2018 notes indenture
  • Temasek Financial (I) Limited in its €1.1 billion dual tranche offer of €600 million 0.5% guaranteed notes due 2022; and €500 million 1.5% guaranteed notes due 2028, pursuant to its US$15 billion guaranteed global medium term note program
  • JBIC, Asian Development Bank and a group of commercial bank lenders in the development and financing of the Muara Laboh geothermal power project in West Sumatra, Indonesia
