Fernando Mercado is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins. He assists clients in commercial litigation and government investigation matters.
Prior to law school, Fernando worked for several years in state and federal government, both in the Governor’s office in Virginia and as a political appointee in the Environmental Protection Agency.
While attending the University of Virginia School of Law, Fernando was a leader in the law school community. He was president of the Latin American Law Organization and was a research assistant for the Karsh Center for Law and Democracy, working for Professor Bertrall Ross.
Fernando received a BA from the University of Virginia in History and Government.
