Eric Rothman is a corporate associate in the New York office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions practice.

Eric represents public and private companies, private equity funds, and strategic investors in a variety of high-profile, complex transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, joint ventures, and other investments.

Eric earned his JD from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he was awarded a Dean’s Merit Scholarship and served as an Articles Editor and Senior Articles Editor of Volumes 40 and 41, respectively, of the Cardozo Arts & Entertainment Law Journal (AELJ). Eric’s note, titled “Net Positive: Imposing a Duty to Warn on Baseball Stadium Operators”, was published in Volume 41, Issue 2 of AELJ.

Prior to law school, Eric was an analyst in the compliance department of a prominent, New York City-based multi-manager investment firm.

Eric’s experience includes representing:

  • Apollo in its acquisition of a majority stake in Stream Data Centers, a builder and manager of hyperscale data center campuses
  • Morgan Stanley Capital Partners in its majority investment in Olsson, Inc., a leading employee-owned engineering and design firm
  • Energy Capital Partners in its US$1.387 billion sale of four natural gas power generation facilities to CPS Energy
  • Afiniti, a global customer experience and artificial intelligence provider, in connection with its Bermuda restructuring and chapter 15 recognition proceeding in the District of Delaware
  • Endeavor in its US$450 million sale of OpenBet and IMG Arena to OB Global Holdings
  • Payoneer (NASDAQ: PAYO) in its acquisition of Skuad, a provider of employer-of-record and agent-of-record services
