Ella McGinn is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Financial Institutions Industry Group.

Ms. McGinn’s practice covers a range of financial services regulatory advice, with particular experience of making authorization applications to the FCA, the FCA’s Conduct of Business Rules, the Consumer Duty, MiFID II and MAR, the Benchmarks Regulation, regulated consumer lending (including related structured finance transactions), culture and conduct issues, and ESG developments in financial services, including in relation to sustainable finance disclosures, ESG benchmarks, and ESG ratings.

Ms. McGinn’s recent highlights have included advising:

  • Private equity clients on UK regulatory advice on transactions involving UK-regulated entities
  • A number of global investment banks and various other UK, EU, and third country benchmark administrators on Benchmarks Regulation authorization applications
  • Benchmark administrators on ESG benchmark compliance and disclosures
  • Two global investment banks and a number of other financial services firms on MiFID II implementation and ongoing compliance
  • A global investment bank on its Consumer Duty implementation
  • Various funds on SFDR classification and related disclosures
