Elizabeth McElvein is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins.

Before joining Latham, Ms. McElvein clerked for the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the District of the District of Columbia and the Office of Legal Policy at the US Department of Justice. She also interned for Judge James E. Boasberg of the US District Court for the District of Columbia.

During law school, Ms. McElvein served as an articles editor of the University of Michigan Technology Law Review and contributed to Lawfare, a national security law and policy blog.

Prior to law school, Ms. McElvein was a staff member on the US House of Representatives Committee on the Judiciary, where she worked on congressional investigations.
