Edward Kocis is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Investment Funds Practice.

Edward represents emerging and seasoned venture capital, private equity, and growth equity fund sponsors on investment management matters, with a focus on fund formation, fundraising, and ongoing fund operations.

Edward advises clients on the formation, organization, and operation of investment funds and their related general partner and management company entities, and he regularly negotiates with institutional investors on fund terms, economics, and investor-specific arrangements.

Edward is also a CFA Charterholder.

Edward counsels sponsors throughout the fund lifecycle, including:

  • Preparing and negotiating offering materials 
  • Drafting and negotiating limited partnership agreements, LLC operating agreements, and related governing documents
  • Advising on side letters, investor relations, governance, and operational matters
