David Steinbach is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Supreme Court & Appellate Practice.

David represents clients in high-stakes litigation in courts across the country. His practice encompasses a broad range of substantive matters, including constitutional law, administrative law, civil procedure, securities law, class actions, and data privacy. He has briefed cases at every level of the judiciary, and he has presented argument in federal and state courts.

Before joining Latham, David served as a law clerk to Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh of the Supreme Court of the United States, Chief Judge Sri Srinivasan of the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, and Chief Judge James E. Boasberg of the US District Court for the District of Columbia.

While at Stanford Law School, David served as Symposium Editor for the Stanford Law Review, participated in the Supreme Court Litigation Clinic, and was one of six first-year students designated as a Kirkland & Ellis Scholar.
