David Leopard is an associate in the New York office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Litigation & Trial Department.

David represents clients in a variety of disputes and regulatory matters, including securities and class action litigation, government investigations, and complex commercial litigation. He represents public corporations, private companies, and financial institutions in both state and federal courts across the country.

David also maintains an active pro bono practice, representing military veterans seeking disability benefits for service-connected injuries, as well as assisting with Special Immigrant Visa applications.

While in law school, David served as executive editor of the Uniform Commercial Code Reporter-Digest and co-president of First Generation Professionals, and was a member of the National Moot Court Team. He also worked as a legal intern for the Enforcement Division of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

Prior to law school, David worked at a global consulting firm providing compensation strategy and data technology services.

David’s recent experience includes representation of:

  • A leading pop culture lifestyle brand in multiple individual and class action securities and derivative suits in both state and federal court, resulting in favorable settlements or dispositions in multiple cases
  • An investment bank in connection with its role as a financial advisor to parties involved in multiple stockholder litigations concerning merger disputes
  • A major hedge fund in a CFTC insider trading investigation
  • A global public strategy firm in a highly publicized dispute with former partners, resulting in a favorable settlement
