Danielle N. Scheer advises clients on healthcare regulatory and transactional matters, primarily focusing on compliance, government investigations, fraud and abuse, and reimbursement. Danielle also advises clients on other areas of healthcare regulation, such as professional licensure, payor enrollment, and grant and other funding compliance.

Before joining Latham, Danielle worked at another global law firm. She also served as a researcher at the National Institutes of Health, and as a principal investigator and interim grant manager with the Florida Department of Health’s Disability and Health Program. Danielle is certified in public health practice by the National Board of Public Health Examiners.

While in law school, Danielle served as judicial intern to the Hon. Paul C. Huck of the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Florida Law Review and as President of the Health Care Law Society.

Danielle's experience includes representing:

  • Assisting health care entities in conducting internal investigations and making self-disclosures to the HHS OIG and CMS concerning the Anti-Kickback Statute and/or Stark Law, Medicare billing and employing excluded persons issues*
  • Defending health care entities in government investigations*
  • Advising entities in implementing their corporate integrity agreements*
  • Advising private equity and strategic investors in assessing compliance programs and controls for numerous target companies*
  • Defending healthcare providers and suppliers in appealing Federal healthcare program suspension and revocation actions*
  • Obtaining settlement of an Administrative Procedure Act action challenging denial of funding that resulted in a material payment to a not-for-profit health system*
