Daniel L. Spivey is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Structured Finance Practice.

Mr. Spivey has experience representing banks, issuers, underwriters, investors, borrowers, lenders, funds, and other financial institutions in a variety of structured asset-based financing transactions, with a focus on the securitization and other asset-based financing of non-traditional (or “esoteric”) assets.

Before joining Latham, Mr. Spivey was an associate in a highly recognized Global Transportation Finance group at an AmLaw 200 firm, focusing on asset-based securitizations and financing structures for aircraft and rail assets.

Mr. Spivey is also a commercial multi-engine instrument rated pilot and enjoys flying in his spare time.

Mr. Spivey’s experience includes:

  • Represented the initial purchasers on the offering of US$553.6 million of British Airways Pass Through Certificates in the first sustainability linked EETC*
  • Represented a San Francisco based aircraft lessor in connection with the issuance of US$663 million of notes secured by a portfolio of aircraft*
  • Represented a railcar lessor in connection with its inaugural railcar securitization offering of US$323.2 million of secured notes backed by a portfolio of over 4,400 railcars*
