Cody Kermanian is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Environment, Land & Resources Practice. He focuses on environmental regulatory compliance, infrastructure siting, complex transactions, and development projects.

Mr. Kermanian advises a variety of clients, including developers, land owners, corporate clients, and utilities, in matters before local, state, and federal agencies, such as the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the California Public Utilities Commission, and the California Department of Toxic Substances Control. He counsels clients on several types projects and transactions, including water treatment facilities, mixed-use developments, solar energy projects, wind power fields, desalination plants, hospitals, signage plans, and energy storage facilities.

In addition, Mr. Kermanian maintains an active pro bono practice working with nonprofit developers and asylum seekers.

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Kermanian graduated cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center. As a law school student, he served on the Environmental Law Society and Georgetown Law Barristers’ Council, where he became a national champion in the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. Mr. Kermanian also served as an extern on the majority staff of the US House of Representatives’ Energy and Commerce Committee, where he worked on a variety of matters, including federal water quality standards, player safety in American professional sports leagues, and foreign interference in the Olympic Games.
