Claire Wallace is an associate in the London office of Latham and a member of the firm’s Entertainment, Sports & Media Practice.

Claire has experience advising stakeholders across the sports and media industries, including federations, governing bodies, clubs, broadcasters, production companies, and digital platform operators on all premium commercial and regulatory matters. 

Claire has particular expertise in advising on sponsorship, events, licensing, and talent agreements, as well as the sale and acquisition of media rights and content distribution. She also has experience providing strategic advice to a broad range of clients, from start-ups to multinationals, on how to manage and protect their intellectual property portfolios. 

In addition, Claire has valuable in-house knowledge of the sports and entertainment industries, having been seconded to Bauer Media, the England and Wales Cricket Board, Football Australia and Stats Perform.

Claire’s experience includes advising:

  • Multiple premium sports leagues and clubs on exploitation of new media, including NFT arrangements with blockchain-focused gaming companies*

  • The England and Wales Cricket Board Limited on its event hosting arrangements with the International Cricket Council*
  • The England and Wales Cricket Board on its professionalization of the women’s game*
  • World Sevens Football on intellectual property and regulatory issues relating to its new 7-a-side event*
  • An international media company on its global broadcasting and distribution agreements for a range of live sports programming*
  • Premiership Women’s Rugby on its first live TV deal with TNT Sports*
  • High-profile individual talent on protection and exploitation of their intellectual property portfolio*
  • National governing bodies on drafting their regulations and ensuring compliance with sports governance codes*
  • Various stakeholders on complex arrangements with Commonwealth Games and Olympic Games organizing committees*
