Charles Sprague is a litigation associate in the San Francisco office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Antitrust & Competition Practice.

Mr. Sprague advises industry-leading clients on antitrust and competition issues in merger clearance, litigation, government investigations, and business counseling. He helps clients obtain regulatory approval for transactions before the US Department of Justice, Federal Trade Commission, and global antitrust regulators. He defends clients facing merger challenges and advises clients facing investigations from domestic and international antitrust regulators. Mr. Sprague also assists clients by managing voluminous and complex electronic discovery productions, drafting pleadings and class certification motions, and preparing economic and technical experts for depositions.

In addition to his work helping clients navigate the complex antitrust regulatory landscape, he has also advised clients on insurance recovery, insurance litigation, and defended their interests during complex commercial litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Sprague served as a law clerk to Judge Carlos T. Bea of the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He received his JD from Stanford Law School where he was a senior editor for the Stanford Law & Policy Review and a member editor for the Stanford Environmental Law Journal.
