Chaminade Lam is an associate in the Hong Kong office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Derivatives, Equities & Structured Products Practice. Ms. Lam focuses on a variety of structured finance and derivatives transactions, including margin loans, equity derivatives, and structured hedging arrangements.

Prior to joining Latham, Ms. Lam worked as an associate in the Hong Kong office of a Magic Circle law firm for three years. 

Ms. Lam’s recent experience includes advising:

  • An international bank on a US$55 million facility to a fund vehicle owned by a leading sponsor backed by convertible bonds issued by a company dual-listed in Hong Kong and on NASDAQ

  • A leading international bank on a committed facility to a vehicle held by the chairman of an issuer dual-listed in Hong Kong and on NASDAQ, backed by super-voting shares

  • A syndicate of international banks on the restructuring of a margin loan to convert the collateral from ADSs listed on NYSE to shares listed in Hong Kong

  • A leading international bank on a US$52 million pre-IPO financing over stocks of a Korean insurance company

  • A global alternative investment manager on the enforcement of an executive financing over a US-listed company

  • A global investment bank on a US$400 million margin financing backed by shares listed in Hong Kong and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange*

  • A Hong Kong-based credit fund on a facility to finance the acquisition of non-performing loan portfolio secured by real estate in the PRC*

  • Leading international banks and counterparties on covered call and collar transactions
