Carmen Buono is an associate in the Brussels office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Antitrust & Competition Practice.
Carmen represents clients in all areas of EU and international competition law, with specific experience in merger control, behavioral investigations, Digital Markets Act (DMA), Digital Services Act (DSA), and other regulatory issues.
Having spent four years in the merger control unit of the European Commission handling cases in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and financial sectors, Carmen regularly advises companies operating in these industries.
Moreover, having spent two years in the European Commission’s Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content, and Technology handling the supervision and enforcement of the DMA and DSA, Carmen regularly advises companies in the technology and digital sectors.
Prior to joining Latham and the European Commission, Carmen worked as an associate in the competition practice of another international law firm in Brussels.
Alongside her client work, Carmen maintains an active academic profile.
