Byron Patton is a corporate associate in the Chicago office of Latham & Watkins.

Mr. Patton represents public and private companies, private equity sponsors, and portfolio companies in a broad range of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions for financial and strategic clients as well as general corporate matters.

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Patton was an associate at a leading international law firm. Before attending law school, Mr. Patton served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps.

    • Acquisition of PathGroup Holdings, one of the largest independent laboratories in the United States
  • Madison Dearborn Partners in its:
    • Acquisition of M&T Bank’s Wilmington Trust CIT Business
    • Acquisition of MoneyGram International, Inc., a global leader in money transfer services and the evolution of digital P2P payments
  • The Carlyle Group in its acquisition of CBAM Partners' CLO business and portfolio of assets for US$615 million in cash and approximately 4.2 newly issued common shares

  • GCP Applied Technologies, a provider of specialty construction chemicals, specialty building materials, packaging sealants, and coatings products, in its US$2.3 billion sale to Compagnie de Saint-Gobain

  • Primerica in its strategic acquisition of e-TeleQuote, a Florida-based senior health insurance distributor of Medicare-related insurance policies, valued on a pre-debt enterprise basis at US$600 million*
  • Ohio National in a strategic transaction with Constellation Insurance Holdings involving its sponsored demutualization, providing for Constellation to fund cash payments or policy benefits in the amount of US$500 million*
