Brittany Liesman is an associate in the Chicago office of Latham & Watkins and is a member of the Litigation & Trial Department.

Brittany represents a wide range of clients in high-stakes complex commercial lawsuits and class actions in both federal and state court.

Brittany also counsels companies, accounting firms, and officers and directors facing investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission. 

Brittany clerked for Judge Joshua P. Kolar on the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Prior to joining the firm, Brittany was a government honors intern at the Securities and Exchange Commission and also worked as a law clerk for the Federal Trade Commission.

Before practicing law, Brittany was a teacher and assistant principal through Teach For America in Gary, Indiana. Brittany currently serves on Teach For America’s Auxiliary Board.

  • Carvana in litigation related to state title, license, and registration fees
  • A national diagnostic services provider in federal litigation regarding allegedly fraudulent services
  • A tech manufacturer and several current and former directors, officers, and employees in an SEC enforcement investigation
  • An accounting firm facing a PCAOB investigation
  • An investment bank in FINRA and SEC investigations
  • A major technology company in a putative consumer class action
