Brian Smallshaw is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins.
Brian is a member of the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice, with a focus on patent litigation. Brian maintains an active pro bono practice involving advocacy for the civil rights of incarcerated individuals.
During law school, Brian served as a Notes Editor for The George Washington Law Review and received the Chris Bartok Memorial Award in Patent Law. He served as a judicial intern for Judge Kara F. Stoll of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and Chief Administrative Law Judge Clark S. Cheney of the U.S. International Trade Commission.
Prior to attending law school, Brian worked as a nanofabrication engineer for a research and development firm in Cambridge, MA, specializing in semiconductor and optical devices.
