Anthony Ramirez is an associate in the New York office of Latham & Watkins whose practice spans complex commercial litigation and white-collar defense and investigations.

Anthony represents companies, financial institutions, professional services firms, and individuals in high-stakes disputes, regulatory inquiries, and internal investigations across a range of industries.

Anthony represents clients in state and federal courts in complex commercial disputes involving false advertising, professional liability, business torts, antitrust, asset recovery, bankruptcy-related litigation, and other high-stakes business disputes. His experience includes matters arising from drug-screening services, restructuring and professional liability claims, consumer products marketing, asset recovery, and restructuring issues.

Anthony also represents companies and individuals in government and internal investigations, including matters involving the CFTC, DOJ, Federal Reserve, and SEC.

Anthony’s experience includes representing:

  • A diagnostics and drug-screening company and related entity in commercial litigation in Missouri state court involving tortious interference claims by a medical review officer and counterclaims for defamation, injurious falsehood, tortious interference, and misappropriation of trade secrets
  • A national law firm and its partners in a high-exposure malpractice dispute arising from bankruptcy and restructuring advice, obtaining summary judgment in a case seeking more than US$100 million in damages
  • A former officer of a failed regional bank in regulatory investigations, bankruptcy-related proceedings, and federal litigation arising from the bank’s collapse
  • A consumer products company in federal false advertising and unfair competition litigation brought by a competitor concerning product packaging and marketing claims
  • A financial information provider in responding to a DOJ subpoena concerning oil-market price assessments

Anthony maintains an active pro bono immigration practice, representing individuals seeking asylum.

Before law school, Anthony worked as a litigation paralegal for the white-collar defense and investigations department of a mid-sized New York law firm.
