Amber Louise Tope is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Corporate Department.

Ms. Tope advises clients on a wide range of corporate matters, including domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and general corporate matters.

Prior to qualification, Ms. Tope trained in the firm’s London office, gaining experience in private equity, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged finance, funds finance, and complex commercial litigation matters. Ms. Tope also spent time on secondment to private equity firm CVC Capital Partners where she assisted on a range of international corporate transactions.

Ms. Tope’s experience includes advising:

  • Goldman Sachs Asset Management on the acquisition of Clear Group, a UK-based commercial insurance broker
  • Carlyle on the acquisition of Altadia Group, the largest global manufacturer of intermediate products for ceramic tile production
  • Moonbug Entertainment, an industry-leading global children’s entertainment company, on its acquisition by Next Generation Media Company, a Blackstone-backed portfolio company led by leading entertainment executives Kevin Mayer and Tom Staggs
  • Hellman & Friedman on the c. €15 billion GP-led secondary / fund-to-fund transfer of its controlling interest in the Verisure Securitas Direct group, a leading European provider of professionally monitored home alarm systems with 24/7 response services offered through its Securitas Direct and Verisure brands
  • CVC Capital Partners on the acquisition of Ethniki Insurance from the National Bank of Greece
  • Ares on the sale of Farrow & Ball, an iconic paint and wallpaper brand with a 75-year British heritage, to Hempel Group
