Alexander L. Mills is an associate in the New York office of Latham & Watkins, and is a member of the firm’s Securities Litigation & Professional Liability and Complex Commercial Litigation Practices.

Mr. Mills advises technology companies, financial institutions, and other large corporations in securities and class action litigation and complex commercial litigation matters. 

Mr. Mills’ experience includes representing:

  • The underwriters of a Chinese retailer’s IPO in a securities class action, resulting in complete dismissal
  • A Chinese technology company in a securities fraud class action, resulting in dismissal of over 99% of claimed damages
  • An oil and gas company in litigation concerning alleged fraudulent conveyances, resulting in a favorable resolution approved by a bankruptcy court
  • An IT services company in a securities class action brought in connection with a multi billion dollar spin-merge transaction
  • The underwriters of secondary offerings conducted by a bank in connection with a securities class action
  • A startup technology company in connection with a securities action lawsuits following its initial public offering, resulting in a favorable settlement*
  • An online broker-dealer in class action lawsuits alleging securities, common law, and tort claims, arising out of the decision to temporarily restrict trading in certain stocks in January 2021*
  • A generic pharmaceutical company in litigation regarding the termination of a US$4.3 billion merger agreement, culminating in expedited trial before the Delaware Court of Chancery and expedited appeal before the Delaware Supreme Court*
  • An oil and gas company in litigation regarding the termination of a US$37.7 billion merger
    agreement, culminating in expedited trial before the Delaware Court of Chancery and
    expedited appeal before the Delaware Supreme Court*
  • A privately owned public utility in connection with wildfire litigation and mediations*
