Aakash Sardana advises lenders, special situation funds, and major corporate borrowers and issuers on a variety of finance transactions including domestic and cross-border, bilateral and syndicated, special situation, and acquisition financings. Aakash also advises clients on project development and finance transactions.

Aakash received his LLB from London School of Economics and Political Science. Concurrently with his legal studies, Aakash served as president of the United Kingdom Singapore Law Students’ Society where he represented, and advocated for, the interests of all Singaporean law students studying in the UK. 

Aakash trained in the firm’s Singapore and London offices, completing seats in the Banking, Capital Markets, Project Development & Finance, and Litigation & Trial practices.

  • The lead managers on Biocon Biologics’ US$800 million 6.67% senior secured notes due 2029. This represents the first USD bond issuance by a biopharmaceutical company in Asia Pacific, and the largest debut issuance from a high-yield-rated issuer from India in the past 10 years. This transaction was awarded High Yield Deal of the Year at the IFLR Asia-Pacific Awards 2025, Best New Bond (India) at The Asset Triple A Awards for Sustainable Finance 2025, and High-Yield Bond of the Year at the IFR Asia Awards 2024
  • HSBC and Mizuho on a term loan facility for Biosimilars Newco Limited, a subsidiary of Biocon Biologics Limited, a leading fully integrated biosimilars company
  • Clifford Capital on multiple issuances of infrastructure asset-backed securities (IABSs), including through:
    • Bayfront IABS VIII, its eighth public IABS transaction, comprising a portfolio of loans and bonds of approximately US$733.3 million in size. This transaction marks the eighth and largest-ever infrastructure CLO/IABS globally
    • Bayfront IABS VII, its seventh public IABS transaction, comprising a portfolio of loans and bonds of approximately US$705 million in size. The first CLO/IABS in Rule 144A/Reg S format for an APAC collateral manager — a landmark transaction for the development of the CLO market in Asia Pacific. This transaction was awarded Debt Market Deal of the Year at the ALB SE Asia Law Awards 2026 and Asia-Pacific ABS Deal of the Year at the IJGlobal Awards 2025
    • Bayfront Infrastructure Capital VI, its sixth public IABS transaction, comprising a portfolio of loans and bonds of approximately US$527 million in size, which included the first unrated mezzanine tranche to be offered to IABS investors on an unguaranteed basis. This transaction was awarded Best Bond Deal: Singapore, Best Project Finance Deal: Singapore, and Best Structured Finance Deal: Singapore at the FinanceAsia Achievement Awards 2025
    • Bayfront Infrastructure Capital V, its fifth public IABS transaction, which included four classes of investment grade-rated notes (including a sustainability tranche), together with a mezzanine tranche guaranteed by GuarantCo. This transaction was awarded Asia-Pacific Bond of the Year at the IJGlobal Awards 2024 and Best Project Finance Deal: Singapore/APAC at the FinanceAsia Achievement Awards 2024
    • Bayfront Infrastructure Capital IV, its fourth IABS, which was awarded Best Infrastructure Deal, Best Project Finance Deal, and Best Sustainable Finance Deal of the Year, both for Asia and the Singapore market, at the FinanceAsia Achievement Awards 202
    • Bayfront Infrastructure Capital III, its third IABS transaction, which was awarded Debt Market Deal of the Year (midsize) by the ALB SE Asia Law Awards 2023
    • Bayfront Infrastructure Capital II, its second IABS transaction, which included a sustainability tranche.   • PT Energi Mega Persada TBK on the term loan in connection with acquisition Kinross International Group Ltd.’s of Energi Mega Pratama, Inc., an explorer and trader of oil and gas
  • WNS (Mauritius) Limited, an IT service management company in its £90 million term loan facility for the acquisition of The Smart Cube Limited, a global provider of sector-specific research and analytics solutions
  • Ola, India’s largest mobility platform and one of the world’s largest ride-hailing companies, in a US$500 million Term Loan B (TLB) debt financing from marquee international institutional investors
  • An ad hoc group of bondholders in connection with the restructuring of the US$500,000,000 7.55% Guaranteed Senior Notes Originally Due 2020 and Extended to 2021 issued by Dr. Peng Holding Hongkong Limited
  • Oravel Stays Pte Ltd, a leading Indian hotel management technology group, on a US$600 million Term Loan B. This milestone transaction made Oravel Stays Pte Ltd the first Indian startup to raise capital using a Term Loan B instrument, as well as the first Indian startup to receive public ratings from Moody's and Fitch
  • OCM Verde XI Investments Pte. Ltd., an affiliate of Oaktree Capital Management, on the US$1 billion offering of guaranteed and secured private placed notes by a subsidiary of Vedanta Resources Limited to fund an acquisition 
  • Infogain Corporation, a ChrysCapital portfolio company, on the US$80 million senior secured credit facilities for the purposes of, among others, financing the acquisition of Absolutdata Holdings, Inc. and refinancing existing indebtedness with Bank of the West
  • Warburg Pincus on the term loan facilities in connection with acquisition of Storhub Holding Pte. Ltd, a holding company for a portfolio of self-storage real estate assets in Singapore
  • PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk on a US$1.3 billion term loan facility in connection with the acquisition of PT Holcim Indonesia Tbk, an Indonesian-based producer and distributor of cement, ready-mixed concrete, and aggregates 
  • A syndicate of banks on a US$200 million term loan facility for PT Barito Pacific Tbk, a diversified resource-based company 
  • PT Pertamina EP Cepu on its US$1.8 billion project financing in connection with the construction and development of a gas processing facility and pipelines, with an expected allocation of 192-MMSCFD to the gas offtaker located in Bojonegoro Regency, East Java, Indonesia. This transaction was awarded Project Finance International Asia-Pacific Oil & Gas Deal of the Year of 2019
  • Golden Energy and Resources Limited on its US$150 million term loan in connection with its acquisition of Stanmore Coal Ltd, an Australia-based coal exploration company 
  • JBIC, Asian Development Bank, and the commercial bank lenders in post-completion matters relating to the Sarulla geothermal power project in North Sumatra, Indonesia — the largest single geothermal power project in Indonesia and at the forefront of new geothermal developments in Indonesia under the Fast Track 2 program
