Belinda Lee and Christopher Yates recognized by The Daily Journal for impactful results for clients and leadership roles.

The Daily Journal, California’s legal newspaper of record, has selected Latham’s Global Antitrust & Competition Practice Vice Chair Belinda Lee and partner Christopher Yates to the publication's 2021 Top Antitrust Lawyers in California honor roll. The awards program annually spotlights the Golden State’s most impressive competition practitioners — those who achieve consistent, impactful results for their clients as well as lead their firms and the broader antitrust community into the future.

In her published profile, Lee was celebrated for her recent successes defending BMW and StarKist. Describing her practice, Lee commented: “The most interesting part for me is that [Antitrust & Competition] is a multi-jurisdictional practice. There are cross-border investigations, mergers that involve regulators in D.C., Brussels, and Tokyo and a good deal of complexity.”

Former Chair of Latham’s Antitrust & Competition Practice, Yates was honored for work for Oracle and StarKist, as well as his headline-grabbing victories defending the United States Soccer Federation and Fédération Internationale de Natation (FINA). In his profile, Yates noted that “It has been very fulfilling to help Latham become a premier antitrust powerhouse.” He went on to share what he enjoyed in his work, saying: “Trials are always great — the culmination of a case. It’s a lot of fun to see the team come together.”
