Award program recognizes the most talented of the up-and-coming generation in private debt and those PDI believes have the potential to shape the future of the asset class.

Nicole Fanjul, Co-Deputy Office Managing Partner of Latham & Watkins’ New York office and member of the firm’s Banking Practice, has been named to Private Debt Investor’s (PDI) list of 2022 Rising Stars. PDI says that the “annual line-up shines a spotlight on those who have demonstrated noteworthy leadership, innovation and dealmaking skills, and have the talent to take the debt industry to new heights over the next decade.”

Fanjul represents lenders and corporate borrowers in complex financing transactions, with a focus on syndicated leveraged finance and direct lending. In the last year, Fanjul co-led the Latham team that represented the lenders in the largest ever annual recurring revenue (ARR) financing, along with a Latham team that represented the providers of a preferred equity financing, to support Zendesk’s US$10.2 billion acquisition by an investor group led by leading global investment firms Permira and Hellman & Friedman LLC. This landmark transaction is the largest direct lending leveraged buyout in history.

Fanjul has been named a Notable Woman in Law and a Notable Diverse Leader in Law by Crain’s New York Business, a Banking Rising Star by Law360, a Rising Star by the New York Law Journal, and a Woman Worth Watching by Profiles in Diversity Journal.
