February 22, 2021
Les Carnegie recognized for his leadership on several high-profile CFIUS representations.

Washington, D.C. partner, and co-leader of the CFIUS & US National Security Practice and the Export Controls, Economic Sanctions & Customs Practice, Les Carnegie, has been named to Foreign Investment Watch’s Top Advisors 2020 list, which recognizes “top lawyers who provide legal advice concerning national security reviews of foreign investments in the US and abroad.” The editorial rankings were based on several criteria, including experience, reputation, clients served, first-person interviews, references, reader recommendations, and articles published.

In his profile, Carnegie was celebrated for his “extensive experience in a wide variety of international trade and national security matters” and high-profile representations before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). Foreign Investment Watch added that “There aren’t many firms that have done as much CFIUS work as [Latham & Watkins], and Carnegie is the reason why.”

Les Carnegie advises companies, financial institutions, and private equity funds, both in the US and globally, on their outbound and inbound business transactions. He guides clients on legal, policy, and enforcement issues arising under US trade and economic sanctions, US export controls, and national security reviews before CFIUS.
