Capital Markets and Banking & Private Credit partner recognized by Crain’s New York Business for leadership in the legal profession and commitment to community.

Emily Johnson, a partner in Latham & Watkins' New York office and a member of the firm's Capital Markets and Banking & Private Credit practices, has been named to the Crain's New York Business 2026 Women of Influence list. The annual recognition celebrates and elevates visionary women leaders who drive progress across diverse sectors, honoring those who defy convention and inspire future generations through their leadership, innovation, and dedication to community.

Emily advises corporate borrowers, boards of directors, and senior management teams on capital structure strategy, design, and execution across complex transactions — including mergers and acquisitions, spinoffs, strategic investments, restructurings, and liability management exercises — in both investment-grade and leveraged markets.

Emily regularly advises market leaders on their most complex and consequential transactions, including advising Paramount Skydance on its US$110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, OpenAI on its inaugural debt financing transaction, Diamondback Energy on its US$26 billion merger with Endeavor Energy Resources, and RTX Corporation (formerly United Technologies) in its separation into three public companies and its US$120 billion merger of equals with Raytheon Company.

Complementing her commercial practice, Emily serves on the boards of Her Justice, which provides free legal services to low-income women and children in New York City, and the Morehead-Cain Scholarship Fund at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
