Latham Advises TotalEnergies on Share Purchase Agreement with Novatek for Stake in Arctic Transshipment

Latham & Watkins has advised TotalEnergies SE, the world's second largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) player, in the signing of its Share Purchase Agreement with Novatek, the largest LNG producer in Russia, to acquire a 10% participation interest in Arctic Transshipment LLC.

Arctic Transshipment is Novatek’s wholly owned subsidiary that will operate two LNG transshipment complexes currently under construction in the Kamchatka and Murmansk regions. The transshipment complexes are part of Novatek’s logistical chain to optimize the use of the Arc7 ice-class tanker fleet, with the aim to ensure efficient and cost-effective LNG transportation.

The cross-border Latham team was led by London corporate partner Simon Tysoe with Moscow associate Leonid Lepold and London associate George Venables.
