List recognizes “the most influential lawyers working in the private equity industry today.”

Latham & Watkins partners from three offices were recognized by Private Equity International as among “the most influential lawyers working in the private equity industry today.” The publication’s “Legal Power 30” list is based on interviews with general practitioners, LPs, and other advisers. “Every single one of the lawyers named [to the list] enjoys considerable influence thanks to a career spent building relationships with the key players in the private equity business. These are the go-to advisors for the funds that count; they work on the most sophisticated deals, and they devise new fund and transaction structures that go on to be adopted by the entire industry,” wrote the publication.

Global Co-Chair of the Corporate Department Dan Lennon was cited for being “the number one deals lawyer for The Carlyle Group,” handling the PE firm’s multibillion dollar investment deals. David Walker, an M&A partner, was also cited for his work with Carlyle, among many other high-profile private equity clients; the publication notes that he “has been at the top of his profession for at least a decade.” Local Co-Chair of the Corporate Department Richard Trobman received praise for his market-leading work in the European high-yield industry, particularly with regard to public and private offerings of securities and leveraged transactions. Thomas Forschbach, Co-Chair of the firm’s global M&A practice, was lauded for his “considerable influence both domestically and globally.”
