Latham Advises La Caisse on Sale of Units in Maple Infrastructure Trust to Macquarie Asset Management
Latham & Watkins advised La Caisse in connection with its sale of units in the Maple Infrastructure Trust (Maple) to Macquarie Asset Management (MAM), via Macquarie Asia-Pacific Infrastructure Fund 4 (MAIF4).
Established in 2021, Maple owns and operates seven toll roads across six states in Eastern, Northern, and Southern India through long-term concession frameworks. Following completion of the transaction, MAM and La Caisse will jointly own controlling stakes in Maple’s investment manager and project manager. The partnership combines MAM’s infrastructure investment and active asset management experience in India with La Caisse’s experience in developing, scaling, and managing infrastructure platforms globally.
As part of the transaction, MAIF4 has committed US$450 million, which includes US$150 million of additional equity earmarked for future acquisitions by Maple. La Caisse has also committed US$150 million to support future growth.
The Latham team was led by Singapore partner Sidharth Bhasin, with Hong Kong associate I-Ming Tan and Singapore associate Andrew Lee.
