Latham & Watkins Advises Meta on Investment in CRED
CRED has announced it will raise ₹8,550 crore (approximately US$900 million) in its Series H round led by Meta, as part of its acceleration plans, structured through a combination of primary and secondary share purchases. Under the terms of the investment, Meta will join the CRED cap table as a minority investor and will not receive access to CRED customer information. Founder Kunal Shah will step away from his operating role as CEO while retaining his personal shareholding in CRED. Kunal will transition to the global leadership team at Meta.
Latham & Watkins LLP advised Meta in the transaction with a corporate team led by Bay Area partners Greg Roussel and Saad Khanani and counsel Jennifer Cadet, with associates Chris Pham and Tori Hu. Advice was also provided on compliance matters by Washington, D.C. partners Erin Brown Jones and Andrew Galdes, with associates Eric Green, Fiza Khan, Ankita Satpathy, and Sara Méndez; and on tax matters by Bay Area partner Grace Lee, with associate Gregory Conyers.
