Latham Named Transatlantic Firm of the Year

Latham & Watkins has been named Transatlantic Firm of the Year at The Lawyer Awards 2026. The prestigious annual awards celebrate the UK’s legal elite, with winners chosen by an esteemed judging panel from the bar, private practice, and in-house sectors.

The Lawyer praised the firm for the scale and strength of its integrated platform and its ability to deliver for clients across the world’s leading financial centers, noting, “It is hard to underestimate the success of Latham as being a true tier 1 transatlantic powerhouse.”

Over the past 12 months, Latham has advised on a number of standout transatlantic deals, including advising on Anglo American’s US$70 billion merger of equals with Teck, Silver Lake’s US$55 billion acquisition of Electronic Arts, Macquarie’s US$40 billion sale of Aligned Data Centers, the landmark financing for Walgreens Boots Alliance’s US$23.7 billion acquisition by Sycamore Partners, and Verisure’s €13.7 billion IPO, among others.
