Many Latham lawyers were individually recognized, and the firm was named a Top 20 US Trial Law Firm and ranked Tier 1 in six practice categories.

Latham’s Litigation & Trial Department continues to set the standard for litigation success, securing top-tier recognition in the 2026 America edition of Benchmark Litigation, described as “a definitive guide on the world’s leading litigation firms and legal professionals.” The department’s strong performance spans multiple practice areas and includes high individual lawyer rankings.

Reflecting strength and breadth across practice areas and industries, Latham has been recognized as a Top 20 US Trial Law Firm and earned Tier 1 rankings in Antitrust, Appellate, General Commercial, Intellectual Property, Securities, and White Collar categories. Benchmark noted, “Latham has also gained a well-earned reputation as an undeniable litigation powerhouse whose footprint has not only reached national levels but boasts litigation heavyweights in nearly every one of its US offices across a diverse spectrum of practice areas.”

Among the 2026 Benchmark individual rankings, five Latham partners are listed in Benchmark’s Top 100 Trial Lawyers in the US: Global Chair of the Litigation & Trial Department Michele Johnson, who was again named one of the Top 10 Women in Litigation in the United States; Executive Committee member and former Global Chair of the Complex Commercial Litigation Practice Sean Berkowitz; Global Chair of the Securities and M&A Litigation Practice Andrew Clubok; and former Global Chair of the Litigation & Trial Department Jamie Wine — each recognized for several years running. Renowned trial lawyer David Marriott, who joined the firm’s Antitrust & Competition Practice earlier this year, also earned a place on the prestigious list.

Seven Latham partners have been named among Benchmark’s Top 250 Women in Litigation for 2026, continuing their streak of recognition over multiple years: Michele Johnson; Jamie Wine; Chicago Office Managing Partner Mary Rose Alexander; Belinda Lee; Tara Elliott; Elizabeth Prewitt; and Maggy Sullivan.

Nearly 50 Latham litigators across the US were honored as Benchmark Litigation Stars, and eight were recognized as Future Stars. Regionally, Latham once again earned top-tier recognition for litigation in California, the District of Columbia, Illinois, and New York.

Latham earned multiple honors at the Benchmark Litigation Awards earlier this year, including Firm of the Year: California for the second year in a row. Michele Johnson was named Securities Litigator of the Year, and Sean Berkowitz was a finalist for White Collar Crime/Investigations Litigator of the Year. Latham was also a finalist in the Securities, Intellectual Property, and Antitrust Firm of the Year categories.
