New York Partner Honored by Lawyers for Children
Lawyers for Children recently honored New York partner Arlene Chow for her commitment to assisting its clients, including young people in foster care or involved in child custody, family court, and other proceedings in New York City. Alongside Lawyers for Children and the Legal Aid Society, Arlene led a team of New York-based Latham lawyers to prepare a brief arguing that children should be allowed to participate in their permanency hearings for foster care, as established by the New York State legislature.
“People have a right to attend court hearings in which they’re involved,” said partner Arlene Chow. “This right doesn’t discriminate whether the person is an adult or a minor, or based on the type of proceedings. I’m grateful for this award and grateful for the work that Lawyers for Children does to support young people.”
