Latham Recognized Across Key Categories in New England Legal Awards

The firm’s Boston office was shortlisted for Law Firm of the Year, with two winners and several finalists named ahead of the awards ceremony.

Latham & Watkins has won and been named a finalist across major categories in Law.com’s third annual New England Legal Awards program, which celebrates legal professional excellence in the region and highlights the market-pacing work by attorneys in the firm’s Boston office.

Latham was shortlisted for Law Firm of the Year based on the firm’s cumulative results in the awards categories, demonstrating the breadth and depth of our practice in Boston. The firm was also named a finalist in the Litigation Departments of the Year categories for General Litigation and for Business Litigation.

In addition, two Latham partners won marquee awards, which will be presented at an awards ceremony in October:

  • Distinguished Leader: David Tolley — The Chair of the Boston Litigation & Trial Department was honored for his impressive career results and outstanding leadership.
  • Rising Star: Dan Hoffman — The Boston partner was recognized for his market-leading work advising emerging and late-stage technology and life sciences companies throughout their lifecycle.

Additional partners were named finalists in the following categories:

  • Managing Partner of the Year: Wesley Holmes — The Managing Partner of the Boston office and Capital Markets lawyer was shortlisted in a new category where associates and partners nominate their favorite leaders in the industry.
  • Attorney of the Year: BJ Trach — The Litigation & Trial partner was recognized for his outstanding successes in multiple high-stakes trials in 2024.
  • M&A Attorney of the Year: Kristin Grannis — The Global Vice Chair of Latham’s M&A and Private Equity Practice was named a finalist in the category for her work advising clients on a range of investments, acquisitions, and divestitures. 
  • Partner of the Year: John Miller — The Global Vice Chair of Latham’s Hybrid Capital Practice was shortlisted in the category, which recognizes exceptional supporting partners who played key roles in contributing to their firm’s success in the past year.

The winners of the shortlisted categories will be revealed at the awards ceremony.
