Latham & Watkins Advises New Regency in Partnership With Shamrock Capital
In a strategic evolution of its business, New Regency has entered into a long-term partnership with Shamrock Capital, a Los Angeles-based investment firm specializing in media, entertainment, communications, and related sectors. As part of this partnership, Shamrock’s Content Strategy acquired a participation in New Regency’s film and television library cash flows. This industry groundbreaking transaction establishes a dedicated and forward-looking capital structure around the company’s celebrated film and television library, carefully curated over 35 years.
In parallel, New Regency entered into a new credit facility secured by its film and television library and New Regency’s production arm entered into a new production credit facility to finance its ongoing and future production of film, television, and media projects. These credit facilities were arranged by JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. and provided by a syndicate of leading entertainment banks.
Latham & Watkins LLP advised New Regency in the transaction, with a finance team led by Los Angeles partner Ken Askin, with associate Jazmine Gordon, and an Entertainment, Sports & Media team led by Century City partners Rick Offsay, Nancy Bruington, and Lili Ranger, with associates Sam Lehman, Aiyanna Sanders, and Kat Ulich.
