Latham & Watkins secured six major wins at the 2025 LMG Life Sciences EMEA Awards, reflecting the firm’s ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation. Regarded as one of the industry’s leading awards programs in the region, the event recognizes the top law firms and lawyers from across Europe and the Middle East and celebrates their success in the life sciences industry.

The firm won the following awards:

  • Corporate Finance Firm of the Year — Latham was recognized for its outstanding work in corporate finance in the region.
  • Impact Case of the Year: Illumina-GRAIL Litigation  The firm’s Antitrust & Competition Practice secured a landmark victory for biotechnology company GRAIL before the European Court of Justice, which invalidated the European Commission’s unprecedented jurisdictional claim over the Illumina-GRAIL merger under EU Merger Regulation.
  • Impact Deal of the Year: Clayton Dubilier & Rice / Opella  A cross-border team advised the arrangers and lenders on the senior secured loan and bond financing for Clayton, Dubilier & Rice’s bid to acquire a 50% controlling stake in Opella, the consumer healthcare business of Sanofi.

  • Antitrust & Competition Lawyer of the Year: David Little — The Brussels/London partner was honored for his work advising clients on significant and complex competition law matters, including merger control, anticompetitive agreements, abuse of dominance, and litigation.
  • Regulatory Advisor of the Year: Eveline Van Keymeulen — The Global Vice Chair of Latham’s Healthcare & Life Sciences Practice was recognized for her extensive experience advising multinational companies and startups on a broad variety of complex European, domestic, and cross-border regulatory matters, including clinical trials, product approvals, and regulatory incentives.
