Black was recognized by the Financial Times for her leadership and innovative approach to law firm management.

The Financial Times has named LeeAnn Black, Chief Operating Officer at Latham & Watkins, as one of the Top 20 non-lawyer “intrapreneurs” in a special report covering innovation in the legal sector over the past 20 years. The FT highlighted Black as a “long-term influencer” who has played a key role during her more than 25 years as COO in Latham’s rise to the top ranks of elite global law firms.

The FT noted in its special report: “The firm, the world’s second biggest by revenues in 2024, was also one of the first to run itself as a straightforward business rather than a professional partnership. Black, with her accounting background, has played a key role in this.”

In the same special report, the FT named Latham among law firms consistently included in the publication’s prestigious Innovative Lawyers reports.

Black has earned broad recognition as a trailblazer in the legal sector, including previously by the FT, which named her a Top 10 Innovative Individual in its 2017 North America report.
