Latham Wins Multiple Accolades at IFLR Europe Awards 2025

Firm won High Yield Team of the Year and Contribution to Regulatory Reform Award, and advised on three Deal of the Year winners.

Latham & Watkins won several accolades at the IFLR Europe Awards 2025 across Team of the Year and Deal of the Year categories. London corporate partner Mark Austin was also awarded the Contribution to Regulatory Reform Award. The firm was shortlisted across 20 categories and transactions in total. The awards recognize legal innovation and showcase transactions that break new legal ground, set precedents, and develop the legal environment for cross-border corporate finance.

Latham’s recognitions include:

  • High Yield Team of the Year — Latham’s European high yield practice was recognized for advising on a number of standout transactions. This marks the tenth time the team has won the award over the past 11 years.
  • Contribution to Regulatory Reform — London corporate partner Mark Austin was named recipient of this year’s Contribution to Regulatory Reform Award. The award recognizes an individual for their impact and contribution to the development market frameworks that improve or enhance the investment environment/financial regulation. Austin was commended for his work to reform UK capital markets.

Latham also advised on award winning deals, including:

  • High Yield Deal of the Year — Latham represented Telecom Italia on its landmark €5.5 billion equivalent concurrent euro and US$ exchange offers.
  • Equity Deal of the Year —The firm advised Athens International Airport on its initial public offering on the Athens Stock Exchange, marking the largest IPO in Greece in over 15 years.
  • M&A Deal of the Year — Latham represented Whirlpool Corporation on its approximately €6 billion joint venture with Arçelik to create a new standalone business in the European home appliances sector.
