Michael Rubin Named a Litigation Trailblazer

National Law Journal
National Law Journal selected the Bay Area partner for his innovative technology and privacy practice.

Each year, National Law Journal (NLJ) highlights “legal professionals who have made significant marks on the practice, policy and technological advancements in their sector,” and Latham & Watkins partner Michael Rubin earned a place on the 2023 Litigation Trailblazer list for his groundbreaking technology and privacy practice and the client successes he’s achieved in complex litigation and regulatory matters.

Mr. Rubin, who is Global Co-Chair of the Privacy & Cyber Practice and Global Vice Chair of the Technology Industry Group, shared with NLJ that it is his blend of litigation and regulatory defense skills that power his ability to see around corners for clients, even in the face of constantly evolving laws and increasingly aggressive plaintiffs and regulators in jurisdictions around the globe.

The publication also asked Mr. Rubin to look into the future of tech and data privacy law. He noted, “With the pace of change only accelerating in tech and in the law, we’ll see increased need for lawyers with the depth of experience to understand the issues, and to predict outcomes – knowing when and where to fight, and how long to stay in versus when to negotiate. Clients will demand these intangibles because protecting the space to innovate will depend on it.”
