Latham & Watkins Advised on MidAmerican Energy Company’s US$1.35 Billion First Mortgage Bonds

Firm advised the underwriters on the regulated utility transaction.

MidAmerican Energy Company (the Company) issued US$350 million aggregate principal amount of the Company’s 5.350% First Mortgage Bonds due 2034 and US$1 billion aggregate principal amount of the Company’s 5.850% First Mortgage Bonds due 2054 (collectively, the First Mortgage Bonds).

Latham & Watkins advised the underwriters on the transaction with a deal team led by New York partner Erika Weinberg and New York of counsel Jonathan Rod, with associates David Califano, Paul Rafla, Sofia Sitterson, and Amanda Farrish. Advice was also provided on tax matters by New York partner Jiyeon Lee-Lim, with associate Claire Park*; on environmental matters by New York partner Gary Gengel, with associate Brittany Curcuru; on FERC matters by Washington, D.C. partner Tyler Brown, with associate Jamie Blackburn.
