Latham Receives Multiple Honors in California Legal Awards
Latham & Watkins has been recognized in four award categories of the annual California Legal Awards, presented by The Recorder, the American Lawyer Media (ALM) publication that focuses on California’s thriving technology sector and emerging legal issues in the state.
Latham is a finalist for the Tech Industry Advisory Firm of the Year award, which spotlights the breadth, depth, scope and successes of law firm transactional practices. Through the firm’s Technology Industry Group encompassing a range of practice areas, Latham combines an unrivaled global platform with deep technology experience — serving clients from garages to boardrooms to meet their unique needs and ambitions.
The firm will also receive an On the Radar award that recognizes go-to law firms representing technology sector clients based on analysis of data reported by Law.com Radar, ALM’s source federal litigation and corporate deal updates. Winners were selected based on volume and significance of matters handled for leading technology companies by California-led legal teams.
Litigation & Trial counsel Nima Mohebbi, a member of the Complex Commercial Litigation Practice, has been named among the Lawyers on the Fast Track honorees, which celebrates the next generation of legal talent. Mohebbi represents clients in a variety of high-stakes matters, including the prosecution and defense of large-scale disputes involving billions of dollars in controversy. He also regularly represents clients in both the entertainment/sports and technology spaces, with a particular focus on blockchain and digital assets, artificial intelligence, and visual effects (VFX), as well as the growing intersection between entertainment content development and technology.
In addition, the longstanding partnership between Latham and Ron Brown Scholar Program (RBSP) has been recognized as a finalist in the Innovation in Diversity and Inclusion category. RBSP provides academic scholarships, service opportunities, and leadership experiences for young African American college students in the US. Consistent with our holistic view of diversity, equity, & inclusion, we and RBSP collaborate in a multitude of ways to support participants with experience across the entire legal community, further increasing the pipeline of underrepresented students pursuing law as a career. The partnership is one of several ways the firm is expanding access to the legal profession and investing in the next generation of lawyers and leaders.
The California Legal Awards will be presented at a ceremony in San Francisco on November 3, 2022.
