New York M&A Partner Alex Kelly Named 40 Under 40 Honoree

Bloomberg Law has awarded Mergers & Acquisitions partner Alex Kelly with its inaugural “They’ve Got Next: The 40 Under 40” award, which honors 40 accomplished young lawyers from across the nation. The honorees were chosen based on their records of success with clients and leadership contributions to their firms and communities, and represent the “best of the future of the legal profession.”

Kelly represents private equity firms, financial institutions, and public and private companies across a wide range of industry sectors, including financial services/asset management, technology, infrastructure, healthcare, and entertainment. In her published profile, Bloomberg Law recognized Kelly’s key role on “some of the most substantial deals of our time,” citing her representation of DXC Technology on a US$5 billion transaction and a US$525 million transaction, both of which were successfully completed despite the unprecedented circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kelly is celebrated for her leadership contributions to the firm and the legal profession by forging a path in a field that is “not well-trodden for women — and particularly women with children.” Kelly discussed how she’s been able to reach this point in her career through mentorship and support from many Latham colleagues, saying, “it takes a village.” Now, she pays it forward by mentoring lawyers who are junior to her.
