Latham & Watkins Advises Deutsche Infrastruktur und Netzgesellschaft on Acquisition of Triopt-Group

German team advises leading fiber optics service and general contractor on the transaction.

Latham & Watkins LLP advised Deutsche Infrastruktur und Netzgesellschaft mbH (DING) on the acquisition of the Triopt-Group from Moers. The group is a technical service provider and specialist for the planning, implementation and optimization of radio and fixed networks, including 5G networks. Through the acquisition, DING is expanding and optimizing its portfolio for the construction and expansion of fiber optic, energy and supply infrastructures for telcos, network operators, public utilities and municipal companies to include the important convergence area between mobile communications and fiber optics.

DING, based in Bochum, is one of the leading service and general contractors in Germany and covers the entire value chain in the field of fiber optics, from planning to construction, operation and leasing of dark fiber networks.

The Triopt-Group includes the four German subsidiaries Triopt GmbH, TriPro GmbH, Triopt-Bau GmbH and TriJobs GmbH as well as the Romanian subsidiary Triopt Romania S.r.l. A total of around 250 employees work at the headquarters in Moers and the Goch site.

The team led by partner Rainer Traugott regularly advises DING on transactions, most recently on the acquisition of Bergert Group in February 2021.

Advice was also provided on tax matters by Munich counsel Ulf Kieker, on employment matters by Munich partner Tobias Leder with associate Kristina Steckermeier, as well as on regulatory matters by counsel Joachim Grittmann.
