Latham & Watkins Advises Onex Group In Weld North Education Investment

Weld North Education (WNE) and Onex Corporation (Onex) announced that Onex Partners V, Onex’ US$7.2 billion fund, and certain co-investors, including Onex (the Onex Group), have agreed to make a significant investment in WNE, in partnership with the management team and the company’s existing investor, Silver Lake.

Latham & Watkins LLP represents Onex in the investment with a corporate team led by Washington, D.C. partner Paul Sheridan, Chicago partner Shaun Hartley, and Chicago partner Daniel Breslin with associates Megan Staub and Lucy Chauvin. Advice was also provided on tax matters by New York partner Lisa Watts with associate Alan Kimball; and on employee benefits and compensation matters by Washington, D.C. partner Adam Kestenbaum with associate Nikhil Kumar.
