Latham & Watkins Advises Bruin Biometrics in equity investment by Arjo and exclusive worldwide distribution rights for Pressure Ulcer SEM Scanner

A life sciences licensing team led Bruin Biometrics LLC in agreement for Arjo to acquire an equity stake.
Bruin Biometrics LLC (BBI), has agreed for Arjo (ARJO-B.ST), a market-leading supplier of medical devices and solutions, to acquire an equity stake in Bruin Biometrics, as detailed in the company press release. As part of its investment, Arjo was also appointed an exclusive distributor for BBI’s pressure ulcer assessment device, the SEM Scanner.

Latham & Watkins LLP represents Bruin Biometrics in the transaction with a life sciences licensing team led by Bay Area partner Judith Hasko and Bay Area associate Jekkie Kim, with Boston associate Seth Appiah-Opoku. Bay Area partner Alan C. Mendelson and Los Angeles associates Scott French advised with respect to corporate matters on Arjo’s equity investment, with Los Angeles associate Brad Burton.  Advice was also provided on tax matters by Bay Area partner Kirt Switzer and Bay Area associate Jessica Chen.
